1. How do I make an appointment?
The first action you can take is to fill out the contact form below. This will give me initial information about your child. We then schedule an appointment to complete a reading assessment at a mutually agreeable time. We follow this with a discussion and steps to move forward.
2. How do I pay for your services?
Payment can be made through Paypal or Stripe. Clients in Canada can do an e-transfer through the bank. If necessary, we can discuss other arrangements also.
3. Isn’t in-person tutoring more effective?
With online tutoring or coaching, your child can remain in the comfort of his/her home, and have you, the parent, nearby. Students and parents learn the necessary steps quickly as to logging in and out for classes. Furthermore, there is no driving involved, nor does it matter what the weather is like outside. The coach can also remain at home, utilising the latest tools to deliver engaging and appropriately paced classes.
4. How do I cancel classes?
Classes may be cancelled or rescheduled with 24-hours notice. For discontinuation of classes, one month notice is required.
5. What qualifies you to tutor my child?
I have been working in the school system in Alberta for over 15 years as an English Language Specialist, working with students learning the English language and teaching students to read in English. For the past 6 years, I worked in Asia at an international school, supporting students in their classrooms. The majority of my time was spent supporting the reading process. I recently completed "The Reading Interventionist Program" which gave me tools, strategies and resources to close students' reading gap.
